The final men’s tennis tournament of the year begins Sunday in London, with Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Stan Wawrinka, Kei Nishikori, Andy Murray, Tomas Berdych, Marin Cilic and Milos Raonic taking the court at the ATP World Tour Finals. FTW previews the year-end event.
1. Can Federer possibly catch Djokovic to become year-end No. 1?
Before we look at the tournament, the big question entering London is who will finish the year ranked No. 1? Djokovic basically clinched that honor when he won in Paris after Federer fell to Milos Raonic in the quarters. He can assure himself of the top year-end ranking by sweeping his three round-robin matches. If he doesn’t do that, the road for Federer is still tough: Djokovic would have to go 2-1 or worse in the round-robin, then lose in the semifinals.
